Canada

+ O Canada!

For Labor Day Weekend my parents decided to drive to Rochester, NY to visit my sister. I honestly thought the 13-14 hour drive would be hell but it wasn't too bad. The route we took was very scenic with a lasting view of mountains and trees.

My mom had never been to Niagara Falls so we decided to go take a day trip to Canada. It's truly breathtaking in person and the boat ride on the Maid of Mist was wonderful. There was this moment on the boat when we were surrounded by the raging falls. We were immersed by the waterfall as if it were going to take us down under.

+ Tallulah Falls

In hopes of getting a good dose of Vitamin D, I decided to take a day trip this past weekend to Tallulah Gorge in North Georgia with some friends. The hike was about 3.5 miles and over 300 steps. Those steps only re-confirmed what I already knew-- I'm so out of shape. With a lot of sweat and maybe a tear or two, I was able to finish the hike with a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. The best part was lunch with a breathtaking view overlooking the gorge.

+ Hiking in North GA

This past weekend I went hiking on the Panther Creek trail for the first time with my roommate, Sophia. I also got to use my new birthday present to take these photos (totes excited). We got up bright and early and drove about an hour and half up north. I must say it's been a while since I've really spent some time outside totally immersed in nature. What was supposed to be a 5.5 mile hike ended up being about 8-10 miles because we got lost in the woods for a good bit, and even though I was out of breath with knees shaking towards the end of the hike, it was all worth it because the end-view was quite breathtaking. We had lunch by the waterfall, soaked our feet in the icy water, and took ridiculous amounts of pictures with my new DSLR :)
